Monday night at the O2 ABC is always promising. This time – with Devin Townsend Project headline Scottish show. Not to forget the amazing support bands – Shining and Periphery. This time – with Devin Townsend Project headline Scottish show. Not to forget the amazing support bands – Shining and Periphery. The long queue outside the venue facing the Scottish weather at its best – cold wind with non-stop rain, seemed to prove Devin – the rain man theory. It is not the first time I was waiting to see Devin live and got soaked.. no matter where the gig is happening. When the long queue finally got into the building, the madness began. Shining There are so many reasons why I like Norwegians and Shining is one of them. Free jazz and rock/metal fusion madness in a courtesy by five Norwegian smart and still rockin’ looking lads. They were the first to open the Monday gig for Devin Townsend Project in Glasgow. Half an hour of total evil and mad energy accompanied by saxophone screams and audience got definitely turned on. Multi-intrumentalist Jørgen Munkeby was giving his all energy and heart to the audience, rocking around on the stage and of it, down to the pit and getting close to the fans. […]
