Immortal front man ABBATH and his new band will make their world premiere at Tuska on Saturday June 27th. Tuska Festival taking place in Suvilahti, Helsinki, has managed to book a crop of trailblazing cult acts that have been all over the media the past few days. Taking the stage at this year’s event at Suvilahti will be Mortus (MEX), Crepuscular (MEX), Eternal Dusk (UK), Grey (GER), Yvaeh (MY), Blast (SWE/FIN), Mystic Triangle (US) and MetalTuska Festival taking place in Suvilahti, Helsinki, has managed to book a crop of trailblazing cult acts that have been all over the media the past few days. They filmed the event, posted the results on YouTube, and within a couple of weeks, the clip had accumulated over five million views. It’s now topped out at 10 million. Pretty impressive, right? For Steve ‘N’ Seagulls, this was a bolt from the blue, but then, as history shows us, the greatest stories ever told tend to start in a stable… Yes, a stable. Blind Channel is an extremely energetic band of five from Oulu. Last fall, they turned heads in the music industry with their Violent Pop music, where electronic elements meet heavy riffs, groovy singing and catchy choruses. They may have existed for merely nine months, but they have captured the attention of both listeners and the media. This summer Blind Channel will offer you exploding energy and a healthy dose of violent pop. How would you describe your sound. Our music combines elements of nu metal, rapcore and electronic pop. Kuolemanlaakso – Tullijousten


Finland has long been the purveyors of fine Doom including Reverend Bizarre, Unholy, Skepticism and Swallow the Sun, which leads into Kuolemanlaakso whom feature a member of Swallow the Sun. This is the second full length release and sits somewhere in the land of doom with a gothic tinge. The opening track ‘Aarnivalkea’ is veryFinland has long been the purveyors of fine Doom including Reverend Bizarre, Unholy, Skepticism and Swallow the Sun, which leads into Kuolemanlaakso whom feature a member of Swallow the Sun. This is the second full length release and sits somewhere in the land of doom with a gothic tinge. The opening track ‘Aarnivalkea’ is very reminiscent of the Judas Christ period of Tiamat with a dreamy ethere al vocal before descending into a heavier area more akin to My Dying Bride around the time of ‘A Light at the End of the World’. The album has an endless supply of doom/death riffs and atmospheric noodlings which are at times captivating and at others overly familiar. The departure on the album is ‘Glastonburyn lehto’ which has a smoky jazz club feel to it which in a peculiar way screams Type O Negative, not something they ever did but you could imagine them doing it. The Keyboards are strong undercurrent throughout although during ‘Tuonen tähtivyö’ they come through in a lead role. There is nothing groundbreaking here but what you do have is a solid heavy record which will satisfy fans of My Dying Bride and that style of gothic tinged doom. Production […]
