Now they release a new studio album ‘HCSS’. It all started when a fan gave Martin a copy of a demo they recorded back in -94. The tracks were literally drenched in sweat, excitement and inspiration. So when it was time for them to start working on songs for the new album, they returned to those demos and relearned those old riffs and by that got inspired for all the new stuff that they came up with. So this is nothing less than Hardcore Superstar coming full circle by showing their fans where they come from and what they still believe in! Two singles have been released so far, Glue and Touch The Sky feat. Etzia, Gothenburg’s dance-hall queen. The album is produced by the band and mixed by Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stoneage, Fu Manchu). Hardcore Superstar just finished an European tour where they have been playing songs from the new album at selected venues. Hardcore Superstar fresh from an appearance at Hard Rock Hell United in Wales on Friday 13th brought their ‘When We Touch The Sky Tour 2015′ to Manchester Club Academy. With Bonafide and NitroDive as support. The problem with playing on a weekend when many of the usual suspects who would have gone to this gig is that they were still at HRH United. Despite that a small crowd, to begin with, gradually grew to a reasonable size as the night wore on. NitroDive from Gothenburg were already playing when I arrived so I probably only caught five songs, which was probably at least half the set. Fronted by Albert Norberg, who reminded me of Danny Jones from Deadaudiosaints, with a black Mohawk, guyliner and toned, muscular tattooed arms. They were mid song but the next song they played was a Ramones cover, not I know that and I knew the song but I didn’t write down which song D’oh but it sounded good anyway! Albert asked ‘You guys having a fun time? Nice to see you on a Saturday night?’ and the next songs were their own Dead or Alive with […]

HRH AOR – Pwllheli, Hafan-Y-Mor 13/03/2015

Having unfortunately missed Psycho Kiss – who, by all accounts got the afternoon off to a suitably rambunctious start – Tainted Nation hit us up hard and heavy, with big riffs and even bigger melodies, coupled with great vocal harmonies, the latter led by frontman Pete Newdeck (pictured right), who exudes an easy confidence throughout their set. The rhythm section of bassist Pontus Egberg and drummer Mark Cross are provide the sort of concrete solid foundation you would expect from musicians of this calibre, underpinning an energetic, passionate and powerful performance. Greeks Kingdragon are the first band of the day to possess what we shall describe as “invisible keyboards syndrome”; but, this does not prevent them delivering […]

PlanetMosh’s favourite new kids on the block, StOp sToP have also been added to the event’s Sleaze stage. While it had been widely reported for several weeks that CrashDiet were not appearing, an official statement posted on the HRH Facebook page earlier today said: “Just to put some clarity to the recent rumours, CrashDiet will not be performing at HRH United or in the near future due to one of its band members being considerably ill. It’s a shame, as we were all up for it, but we are only human and sometimes these things happen, however once they are fit and back up and running, well get them back in.” A statement from the band added: “Its with a lot of regret that CrashDiet have had to cancel Hard Rock Hell United due to health issues with one of the band members. We apologise to anyone that has bought a ticket to see the band and hope that the band will be able to grace a future edition of the event so as to […]
