Unfortunately, scheduling of the latter meant that we again missed the main stage openers – this time in the shape of Wakefield’s Euphoria Audio and the vanguard of today’s Scandinavian invasion Reach – but we managed to make the trudge back up the hill and into the bar area just in time to catch Melbourne blow-ins White Widdow and their impactful brand of classic melodic rock. With their tight musicality and good use of vocal harmonies, there is no doubt that Jules Millis is another of the plethora of charismatic frontmen strutting their talent this weekend; he covers the stage well, and interacts with the crowd on the most effective level – even taking time to have a joking swipe about The Poodles vocalist Jakob’s comment about how far his band had travelled to play Pwllheli (“their flight must have been a killer”!). The band themselves are tight and the set is a solid and well-paced way […]

Serpentine – HRH AOR 13/03/2015

Following their show closing set on the first night of HRH AOR, Serpentine vocalist Adam Payne and keyboardist Gareth David Noon had little chance to rest on their laurels, as first thing next morning saw them plunging straight into the feeding frenzy of the media room for a

Having unfortunately missed Psycho Kiss – who, by all accounts got the afternoon off to a suitably rambunctious start – Tainted Nation hit us up hard and heavy, with big riffs and even bigger melodies, coupled with great vocal harmonies, the latter led by frontman Pete Newdeck (pictured right), who exudes an easy confidence throughout their set. The rhythm section of bassist Pontus Egberg and drummer Mark Cross are provide the sort of concrete solid foundation you would expect from musicians of this calibre, underpinning an energetic, passionate and powerful performance. Greeks Kingdragon are the first band of the day to possess what we shall describe as “invisible keyboards syndrome”; but, this does not prevent them delivering […]

HRH AOR – Pwllheli, Hafan-Y-Mor 12/03/2015

Once again, Team PlanetMosh joined the thousands of Hard Rock Hell faithful – and a fair few newcomers to boot – for the epic trek to the crook of the Gower Peninsula for another weekend of hard rockin’ action. This year’s format, of course, was a little different to previous ones, with the mixing of

Before the latter show, PlanetMosh was privileged to able to catch of with one of the three founding members of Night Ranger, drummer and vocalist Kelly Keagy, for a quick chat about the band, their return to the UK, why they have decided to include cover versions in their set, future plans – including the possibility of a full UK tour in 2016 – returning to their roots in terms of their recording techniques, the resurgence of interest in rock music and his favourite Night Ranger songs. Later that evening, Night Ranger played a set which came in at just shy of two hours – something very few bands do at festivals – and left the audience clamouring for more. You can read our full review later in the week. http://planetmosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Night-Ranger-Interview-March-2015.mp3 Last updated:Monday, March 16, 2015

PlanetMosh’s favourite new kids on the block, StOp sToP have also been added to the event’s Sleaze stage. While it had been widely reported for several weeks that CrashDiet were not appearing, an official statement posted on the HRH Facebook page earlier today said: “Just to put some clarity to the recent rumours, CrashDiet will not be performing at HRH United or in the near future due to one of its band members being considerably ill. It’s a shame, as we were all up for it, but we are only human and sometimes these things happen, however once they are fit and back up and running, well get them back in.” A statement from the band added: “Its with a lot of regret that CrashDiet have had to cancel Hard Rock Hell United due to health issues with one of the band members. We apologise to anyone that has bought a ticket to see the band and hope that the band will be able to grace a future edition of the event so as to […]
