The Dead Daisies declare a June ‘Revolución’


The Dead Daisies – the superstar collective featuring past and current members of the likes of Guns N Roses, Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy and Mötley Crüe – are to release their second album, ‘Revolución’, via INgrooves on June 1.

The band have also confirmed that they will be returning to Europe this summer, as special guests on Kiss’ 40thThe Dead Daisies – the superstar collective featuring past and current members of the likes of Guns N Roses, Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy and Mötley Crüe – are to release their second album, ‘Revolución’, via INgrooves on June 1. The band have also confirmed that they will be returning to Europe this summer, as special guests on Kiss’ 40th anniversary tour. For both the album and the tour, the Daisies have been joined by former Mötley Crüe /Ratt singer John Corabi, while the tour will also feature current Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne drummer Tommy Clufetos. The new album features Corabi, bassist Marco Mendoza (ex-Thin Lizzy/Whitesnake), keyboard player Dizzy Reed (Guns N’ Roses), guitarist David Lowy (MINK, Red Phoenix), lead guitarist Richard Fortus (Guns N’ Roses/The Psychedelic Furs) and drummer Jackie Barnes (Tin Lids/Jimmy Barnes). Marco Mendoza leaves Black Star Riders

Black Star Riders have announced the departure of bass player Marco Mendoza following the band’s current US tour, which ends on June 22.

Mendoza has decided to pursue other projects, after potential conflicts in schedules. His replacement will be Robbie Crane (pictured right), formerly of Ratt, Vince Neil and Lynch Mob.

BSR guitarist Scott Gorham said: “IBlack Star Riders have announced the departure of bass player Marco Mendoza following the band’s current US tour, which ends on June 22. Mendoza has decided to pursue other projects, after potential conflicts in schedules. His replacement will be Robbie Crane (pictured right), formerly of Ratt, Vince Neil and Lynch Mob. BSR guitarist Scott Gorham said: “I am very sad to see Marco go. We have been together in a band now for almost 20 years and Marco is my brother and we wish him well for the future. It’s an amicable parting of ways and we all respect that Marco wants to do other projects outside of Black Star Riders and there just isn’t time to do both.” Frontman Ricky Warwick added: “Marco will always be part of the BSR family and a true friend of ours. We are very happy to introduce Robbie Crane to everyone as the new BSR bass player. What they may not be aware of is that Schon has a vibrant career as a solo artist as well. So U is Schon’s latest ‘solo project’ release. What they may not be aware of is that Schon has a vibrant career as a solo artist as well. So U is Schon’s latest ‘solo project’ release. This nine-track record contains seven songs with vocals, and two instrumental songs. On this release, backing up Schon are Marco Mendoza (Black Star Riders) on bass guitar, and Deen Castronovo (Journey) on drums. Jack Blades (Night Ranger, Damn Yankees) contributed additional songwriting ideas and assistance on some of the tracks. So U is designed to cast a bro ad net to appeal to a large portion of rock music fans: it isn’t too esoteric, nor is it too commercial – it balances accessible listening with diverse ideas. One of the best things about ‘high end rock’ releases is that they are beautifully produced, well-mixed, and enjoyable at any volume. So U is no exception.
